New logo!

So The C of C has a new logo, designed by my very-talented friend, Lyn Bailey! Here it is in all its glory. Please let me know what you think of it. I love it and want it on a tshirt, bag, teacup, teapot... Well everything really!

Happy Easter!

I know, I know... I'm a few days late! I went to my parents' house on the south coast and spent my Easter day and half of Easter Monday with them before driving back up in preparation for going back to work on Tuesday. It was so lovely to spend some time with my family as I'd not been home since Christmas! I have seen my parents and sister, but it's not the same when it's not your house :)

After a miserable Easter, weather wise, Easter Monday was lovely! The morning was anyway... Mum, Dad, Mario and myself went for a lovely seaside stroll and made the most of the lovely weather.

I even wore my bunny necklace on Easter day!! Now I've tweaked it, I'll be able to put it on my Etsy shop soon.

We were so lucky with chocolate! We received sooo much! We're going to be eating it for a looong time. Or I'll bake with it... Watch this space!

I hope that you all had a lovely Easter and a break from work!

Easter Delights!

I've not been very well this past week, due to a cold I caught! I guess that's the risk that comes with working with the public... Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I made a cute rabbit and didn't know what to do with him. I asked the boyfriend and he told me to make it into a pendant with carrot earrings! I thought the idea was cute, but I took what he said and ran with it, and this adorable necklace was born!

Let me know what you think!

Blast from the Past: Friendship Bracelets I Have Made

I really love making friendship bracelets. Before starting The Corner of Craft's Etsy shop, I had another small business: Banana Bracelets! These bracelets are all available still at http://bananabracelets.storenvy.com! I'm yet to move them all across to my new shop :) I thought I would share some of my favourite bracelets with you.

I hope that you like this selection of bracelets! They're so much fun to make and very therapeutic :)

The Flowers That Bloom In The Spring Fala...

For those of you who don't know, the post title is a song by Gilbert and Sullivan... It's a treat so I will put a link to it here!

So we had a (small) spell of sunny weather! It has since been taken over by rain, but that's fine! Flowers need rain to grow. I decided to make some lovely, springtime/summery bracelets for you and they're available on my Etsy shop now! So far I only have a daisy chain and a sunflower bracelet, but there will be more to come :)

One of my friends loves daisies and asked if I could make a daisy chain necklace (£10)! Of course I obliged and this is how it looks:

If you like any of the items of jewellery I make, but would like them in another form, don't be afraid to message me! You can message me via Facebook (http://facebook.com/thecornerofcraft), via Etsy (http://etsy.com/shop/thecornerofcraft) or just email me directly (thecornerofcraft@gmail.com)! I really am friendly and don't bite, so don't be afraid :P

Watch this space for more flowery bracelets! If you'd like a tutorial on how to make these yourself, leave a comment on this post and let me know :D

Recipe Review: SORTED Food's Chocolate Orange Cheesecake Brownie

I am a huge fan of baking. I love producing cakes and brownies that make people happy as they eat them, and obviously I enjoy eating them too! I had a job, before the one I currently have, that required me to bake muffins every single morning. The same ones... Every day... As well as preparing everything else for the day. Needless to say it was stressful. It put me off baking for a while, but after a 5-month hiatus, I'm back!!

When I saw the video that SORTED Food posted earlier this week, I knew that I had to make it! I really like SORTED Food as the food they make is very much student-friendly in the way that it is presented and most of their recipes have a lovely video uploaded to their YouTube channel so you can see exactly what each step should look like.

The recipe itself was extremely easy to follow. Making a brownie isn't rocket science, but the guys from SORTED food have made each step so clear and simple, not using a lot of technical terminology. I was a little reluctant to try out a new brownie recipe, as I have found my perfect recipe (thanks to the recommendation to one of my friends. Don't worry, I will share it with you in a later post), but it was surprisingly successful!

The only difference I would make is that I would melt the chocolate, butter and sugar over a pan of water instead of the microwave, but other than that, it worked out wonderfully! I think I may have undercooked my brownie a little, but it still tasted amazing.

The guys I live with definitely approve.

Doesn't it look amazing??

Here is the link to the recipe, you should definitely give it a shot!! http://sortedfood.com/#!/core/chocolateorangebrownie/

Exploring Etsy: April Showers

So April is upon us. How quickly is 2014 going?? It only seemed like last week that we were seeing in the new year... Maybe I'm just getting old! What better way to see in this new month than with an "April Showers" themed EE?

1) Cloud and Raindrops Cushion Cover - byMetz

I think that this little cushion cover will look perfect in a nursery or a child's room! Made from cotton with cloud and raindrops appliqué, this bright and fun cushion will make you look on the bright side of rain! This cushion is only £18.67 and ships from The Netherlands.

2) Umbrella Necklace - alapopjewelry

This gorgeous brass necklace is sure to attract a lot of attention! I love the contrast of the turquoise raindrop to the chain and brolly! This necklace is about 18'' long and costs only £13.69. There are even matching earrings available! The designer is based in the US.

3) Raindrop Latte Mug Set - sproutstudio

These handpainted mugs are the perfect thing to have a hot chocolate in after a day of walking around in the rain! To be fair, these would even be great for soup. There are also other items available so you can collect a matching set. The two cups are £27.38 and they are shipped from the US.

4) Rainbow in a Bottle - ChikoCraft

I'd love to keep so many different types of weather in a tiny bottle! The weather inside the bottle is made from polymer clay! The weather in this bottle looks like the average English day, where all seasons get a look in! There is a cork to this bottle and you can buy it on a necklace for an additional fee.The necklace is £18.67 and is made in the US.

5) Happy Little Raincloud Necklace - TheSimarillion

Lara makes all sorts of amazing lazer cut necklaces! I have no idea how it's done, so I just admire and look on in envy! This gorgeous necklace is perfect for spring. Hung on a delicately small chain, this little rain cloud doesn't look like he'd intentionally upset anyone! This necklace is only £8.71 and is shipped from the US.

6) Cloud Felt Coasters - pygmycloud

These coasters are just adorable, even if they do represent a rainier type of day! Each of these coasters is meticulously cut and punched by hand - it must take ages! This UK based designer is charging only £12 for a set of 4 coasters :)

7) Find Beauty In Rain Print - thewheatfield

I love this print. It's so bright and colourful. The font is gorgeous too and really does make you find the beauty that comes with rain. I feel like it's an expression that all could live by :) The creator is based in the US and charges £11.09 for this print.

8) "Of Rain and Rainbows" Cloud Earrings - DIVINEsweetness

These cloud earrings are so adorable, with their oversized rain drops. They're made from polymer clay and the designer describes them as "charmingly imperfect". These earrings are shipped from the Philippines and will cost you £16.63.

9) Rain Cloud Rubber Stamp - creatiate

This rubber stamp is amazing. I'm always fascinated by how skilled people are to make a rubber stamp. My friend did it for my logo (which will be making an appearance shortly!) It is true what the US-based designer says: "not all little rain clouds need to be gloomy". This stamp is only £4.93.

10) I Don't Care If It Rains Print - stardixa

I thought it was appropriate to finish this EE with this print! I don't just love the print because both the girl in it and I have purple hair... It does help though! I love how carefree she is, especially as the clouds are so angry! The Spanish designer is only charging £9.24 for this print. Be quick, there's only one available!

And that wraps up this week's EE! Sorry I've not been too present with my blog. I've really not been well recently, so hopefully when I'm back on my feet, I'll post more regularly :)
